Free Gas Giveaway for vets and service members on Memorial Day, from Nuvision Credit Union
Listen to this articleHuntington Beach-based Nuvision Credit Union will pay tribute to the men and women of the armed forces with a FREE gas giveaway for veterans and active-duty military on Memorial Day, this coming Monday, May 27, from 8-10 a.m. It will take place at the Mobil Gas Station, located at 16001 Beach Blvd. in Huntington Beach (92647). Volunteers will be on hand to pump the gas.
It marks the third year in a row that Nuvision has hosted a free gas event for servicemembers on both Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day. In 2018, the company gave away nearly 3,000 gallons of free gas.
“Nuvision has long believed in supporting our military by honoring the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our country,” said Tom Sweet, vice president of marketing for Nuvision. “Every year we honor their service by holding events just like this one to support the real American heroes, our veterans and active-duty service members. It’s just a small token of appreciation to recognize everything they do to protect our freedoms.”
In addition to the free gas, active-duty and retired servicemen and servicewomen also will be offered a complimentary car wash at the nearby Xpress Car Wash, located at 16061 Beach Blvd. To be eligible for the gas giveaway and car wash, service members must present a valid VA or Military ID and the offer is only valid for trucks, automobiles and motorcycles. There is a 20 gallon-per-vehicle limit. The free gas offer does not include boats, RVs or commercial vehicles.
Sean Valentine, the morning show host on MYFM 104.3 will host a live remote from the Mobil gas location on Monday morning.
Nuvision’s Memorial Day activation plans also extend well beyond Southern California. Nuvision operates branches throughout the Western United States, including Alaska. Besides the Huntington Beach free gas giveaway, the company will host a similar event at the Maverik Gas Station in Cheyenne, Wyoming from 11-1 p.m. More than 500 cars are expected. And for veterans and active-duty servicemembers in Mesa, Arizona; Kent, Washington, and Tikahtnu, Alaska, Nuvision will give away more than 200 free gas cards ($50 value).
