Revised Muslim ban statement from Rep. Roybal-Allard
Listen to this articleWashington, DC – Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-40) issued the following statement regarding the president’s revised Muslim ban:
“Despite some changes around the edges, President Trump’s revised Muslim ban is essentially the same misguided and unconstitutional document it was before. It is still unlawful, unwarranted, and unnecessary. The United States already has extensive vetting for travelers coming to the U.S.
“This ban on Muslims is simply bigotry wrapped in fear. America has a rich history of religious pluralism, and of welcoming refugees and other immigrants from all around the world. This ban goes against America’s values of tolerance, diversity, and compassion. I strongly urge court action to halt this disgraceful attempt to ban individuals, including refugees fleeing from persecution, from entering the United States based on their religion.”
