January Arts Launch is Scheduled
On Sunday, August 18th, January Arts celebrated their upcoming launch with a fundraiser at Moon Huts in Los Angeles. Headed by Kristine Schomaker, the creator of Shoebox Arts, January Arts is a new nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting artists. The purpose of this organization is to provide resources and opportunities for artists at various stages of their careers.
The event featured a small works exhibition, allowing attendees to engage with and purchase pieces from a diverse group of over 60 artists. This included the work of Schomaker, an artist herself. There was also a silent auction.
January Arts is set to officially launch on September 1st and aims to serve as a community for artists to support each other, offering workshops, creative groups, opportunities for artists to show their work, and more. The organization plans to offer membership benefits including group Zoom meetings, monthly speaker sessions, and in-person meet-ups at cultural institutions. The organization is designed to help artists further their artistic careers while connecting with a broader community by providing accessible and affordable support to artists using both in-person and digital platforms.
January Arts will officially launch on September 1. For more information about January Arts, including membership details and future events, visit their website.
