Robert Muggah, a specialist in security and development, is the research director of the Igarapé Institute in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and principal of the SecDev Group in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Muggah is also affiliated with the Instituto de Relações Internacionais, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro as well as the Centre for Conflict, Development and Peace at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, in Switzerland. He is former research director of the Small Arms Survey.
