Happy 4th of July
We at the Los Angeles Post-Examiner would like to wish all our readers (and viewers) a safe and happy Independence Day.
Stay safe, don’t drink and drive and be careful with the fireworks.
If you’re looking for massive fireworks shows in the Los Angeles area: There will be a block party followed by fireworks at Grand Park in DTLA, The Hollywood Bowl will feature Smokey Robinson with the L.A. Philharmonic, followed by fireworks, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena will have the biggest fireworks display in Southern California; $13 to get into the grounds. Marina Del Ray will have a free display, the best places to watch are Fisherman’s Village, Chace Park or Mother’s Beach.
There will be a nice display over the Queen Mary in Long Beach, and then in Orange County you can watch the display from Angels Stadium in Anaheim, or you can catch the Mets and Dodgers game at Dodgers Stadium and the fireworks after the game. What’s more American than baseball and fireworks?
The L.A. Coliseum will have free activities plus fireworks and Huntington Beach will have its famous parade, with Grand Marshall Joe Mantegna followed by a great fireworks show.
In San Diego you can watch The “Big Bay Boom,” which can be seen from anywhere around San Diego Bay: Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Seaport Village, Embarcadero North and South, and the Coronado Ferry Landing. It is suggested you take the trolley to the Port of San Diego and save yourself the hassle and expense of finding parking.
Seaworld has its fireworks display, which can be seen from anywhere around Mission Bay. If you’re going to the San Diego County Fair — the Del Mar Fair — there will be a fireworks display and Legoland in Carlsbad will also have fireworks.
Most of the fireworks shows go off at 9 p.m., but some will take place at dusk. Either way, get to your destination early if you want to find a good spot.
Have a great 4th of July.
We are not the typical news website – nor do we wish to be. We will be offering more than news and blogs, but an opportunity for fiction writers, poets, comedians and musicians to showcase their talent and skills. Much like when the Beatles formed Apple Corps Ltd, they opened the door to all kinds of inspiring talent that never really got a shot. From that came the likes of James Taylor and others. We hope by providing a similar approach we can shine the light on some tremendous undiscovered talent and at the same time offer some familiar voices who live in Los Angeles and beyond.
