LAFC hosts Columbus Crew FC today
Today at the Banc of California Stadium the Columbus Crew FC will face the Los Angeles FC in what should be an exciting match. new LAFC addition Midfielder Andre Horta will take the pitch, giving the team some depth. If there are football fans from Portugal the arrival of Horta must have been a big and welcome surprise.
In the Primeira Liga Horta had one goal and six assists and he had two goals with the Portugal National Team. He’s young (21) and has great potential to become a star in the MLS.
Fans can also welcome back the World Cup players, including Carlos Vela (Mexico) who was the first LAFC footballer to score during the World Cup.
LAFC comes into this game wearing a record of 7-4-3 with 24 points. They are in third place behind Sporting Kansas City and FC Dallas. It’s still a long season so the L.A. squad has time to catch their two rivals. They have yet to play Kansas City, but LAFC has played Dallas twice, first to a 1-1 draw and then a 2-1 loss on June 2 in Dallas.
The Columbus side is in third place in the Eastern Conference, behind Atlanta United FC and and New York City FC. Their record is 7-4-6 with 27 points. They have yet to record a win this month; they have thaw draw against one loss.
This will be a great night of soccer for football fans in Los Angeles. The match starts at 7:30 p.m.

We are not the typical news website – nor do we wish to be. We will be offering more than news and blogs, but an opportunity for fiction writers, poets, comedians and musicians to showcase their talent and skills. Much like when the Beatles formed Apple Corps Ltd, they opened the door to all kinds of inspiring talent that never really got a shot. From that came the likes of James Taylor and others. We hope by providing a similar approach we can shine the light on some tremendous undiscovered talent and at the same time offer some familiar voices who live in Los Angeles and beyond.
