SoCalGas has emailed another update for its customers in the Porter Ranch area.

Dear Neighbor,
Today we have temporarily controlled the flow of natural gas at the leaking well at the Aliso Canyon storage facility. We are continuing to work in coordination with the California Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) and other agencies during the process of permanently sealing the well. This is a key milestone in our effort to permanently stop the leak.
The next step in the process of sealing the well requires cement to be injected from the relief well into the leaking well at its base. The leak will be declared permanently sealed once DOGGR has issued its confirmation.
As we communicated on Monday, February 8, this is the first of two notifications that you will receive as we continue our progress to stop the leak. The second notification will be sent when DOGGR has confirmed that the well has been permanently sealed. Upon DOGGR confirmation, residents who are currently temporarily relocated to short-term housing, such as hotels, will have up to eight days/seven nights to transition back home. Residents who have been placed in rental housing will have through the SoCalGas agreed term of their leases to return home. Specific information on the return home process can be found here.
Please complete this form to update your contact information if you would like to receive other notifications in addition to email.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
We are not the typical news website – nor do we wish to be. We will be offering more than news and blogs, but an opportunity for fiction writers, poets, comedians and musicians to showcase their talent and skills. Much like when the Beatles formed Apple Corps Ltd, they opened the door to all kinds of inspiring talent that never really got a shot. From that came the likes of James Taylor and others. We hope by providing a similar approach we can shine the light on some tremendous undiscovered talent and at the same time offer some familiar voices who live in Los Angeles and beyond.
