Porter Ranch update: Transition period extended
SoCalGas has emailed another update to customers in the Porter Ranch area about the leak at their Aliso Canyon Storage Facility.

Dear Neighbor,
We are continuing to work around the clock to stop the leak at our Aliso Canyon Storage Facility. In order to facilitate a smooth return home for the Porter Ranch community, we are extending the transition period for relocated residents to return to their homes from two days (48 hours) to eight days/seven nights from the time the state’s Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) confirms that the leak has stopped.
This extension is a result of an agreement reached with the Los Angeles City Attorney. We have created a Return Home Question and Answer page to address questions you may have during this process.
Next steps on your transition home:
To give you time to prepare for your return home, we will attempt to notify you at least two times once the leak is stopped. The first notification will be sent at the time the flow of gas is controlled, and the second notification will be sent after DOGGR confirms that the leak has stopped. Please complete this form to update your contact information if you would like to receive other notifications in addition to email.
If you relocated to short-term temporary housing, such as a hotel, you will have up to eight days and seven nights in your temporary housing location after DOGGR confirms that the leak has stopped. At the conclusion of eight days, the relocation assistance, which includes temporary housing accommodations, pet boarding, meal and mileage reimbursements and alternate child transportation, will end. Special circumstances (disabilities or access and functional needs) that may require additional arrangements will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
We understand and regret that the leak has impacted your everyday lives, and we want to help make the transition back to your homes as smooth as possible. If you have any additional questions, please visit AlisoUpdates.com or call the SoCalGas Aliso Canyon hotline at 818-435-7707.
Thank you, again, for your patience, cooperation and understanding.

We are not the typical news website – nor do we wish to be. We will be offering more than news and blogs, but an opportunity for fiction writers, poets, comedians and musicians to showcase their talent and skills. Much like when the Beatles formed Apple Corps Ltd, they opened the door to all kinds of inspiring talent that never really got a shot. From that came the likes of James Taylor and others. We hope by providing a similar approach we can shine the light on some tremendous undiscovered talent and at the same time offer some familiar voices who live in Los Angeles and beyond.
