Trump the Terrible
After eight interminable years of having to be subjected to TeeVee images of Trump the Terrible, I’ve learned only one thing: it’s better to have a democracy than demagoguery or dictatorship—where even a smile or fleeting happiness seems to be taxed and tazed in the spirit of Trumpism brutality.
Yes, I have learned how to be joyful and happy even in the midst of this new Hitler-like dictator leaning toward the White House with great effort, like a hungry pig having its slop. And he treated working Americans and veterans like the kind of slop a pig luxuriate in eating. And if he interferes in our democracy again in 2024, Biden will use his authority over the military as commander-in-chief, and that means he will order the use of deadly force. That’s under the U.S. Constitution — our bedrock of principles and morals in governing a new republic created almost 250 years ago. We killed Hitler’s movement in World War II — annihilating German cities. Just a reminder to the millions of American Trump Nazis out there.
On Aug. 15, 2018, Trump was enraged over former CIA Director John Brennan’s critiques of his job performance, so Trump revoked Brennan’s security clearance. Admiral William McRaven, a high-profile Navy SEAL, and former chancellor of the University of Texas System, joined about 250 other intelligence officers in condemning Trump’s reckless and childish action. Brennan merely chuckled about it, in one TV interview, saying he was not surprised.
Trump did not get his Border Wall or anything close to it, but he did blackmail the American People over it — causing the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, as a presidential temper-tantrum. And a wall would not have worked anyway — a giant waste of money. Walls are antiques.
Liberal Democrats created and have sustained this nation and preserved our Constitution as our democracy’s solid foundation. Without reverence and adherence to the Constitution every day, America will founder — like a ship without a rudder — and will slowly die and go to the bottom when we should be celebrating and riding the wind with spirits high, leading the world!
Without President Franklin D. Roosevelt, America would have suffered a lot more than it did during the Great Depression caused by the excesses and corruption of the Roaring Twenties — as the party days of the 1920s are referred to today — and have for decades. FDR created federal work programs to get young people busy building up America in many ways — new roads, bridges, schools, all kinds of infrastructure across the country, and it worked magnificently. Then FDR hired a great Army general to help guide U.S. victory over Japan and Germany — both trying to destroy the U.S. — and his name was George Marshall, and he developed and instituted the Marshall Plan that rebuilt the damage of war done to Germany. A true visionary.
Right-wing Republicans always either start wars, create unnecessary conflict, or try to grab too much power. Now, they are in love with Trump the Psycho. And it is pathetic to watch this. If Trump steals 2024 — and he must steal it to get it — that will trigger Biden using the U.S. Armed Forces to protect us all from these crazy MAGA morons. This election season is as serious as World War II, at least for all free nations in the world today. And if the Republicans ever want to be considered worthy of their offices again — many of them, anyway — they’d better stop whining and throwing Trump temper tantrums and come up with some good ideas for the American People or we will stop voting for them. Very simple math.
Admiral John W. Flores is a disabled American veteran, and a journalist and author in the mountains of northern New Mexico. He is a recipient of the U.S. Navy Public Service Award — presented to him in a 2009 ceremony at the 4th Recon Battalion HQ. The citation was signed by then-Marine Corps Commandant James Conway.
