LAFC signs André Horta as designated player
Listen to this articleThe Los Angeles Football Club announced they have signed André Horta as designated player. Horta come from the Portuguese Youth International, from SL Benfica of Portugal’s First Division.
LAFC coach Bob Bradley said, “André is a technically gifted player with enormous versatility. He is young and dynamic, and with his experience in Portugal we believe he will continue to develop into a top-class player.”
Horta is 5’9” and was born in 1996. He spent eight years in Benfica’s youth system before joining Vitória Setúbal in 2012. Horta made his debut with the team December 14, 2014. he appeared in 42 matches, including championship play, scoring two goals and getting four assists.
Internationally, Horta made 22 appearances for the Portuguese youth international teams, scoring his first international goal in a friendly against Japan’s U-23 side on May 23, 2016. Horta scored his second goal in a 4-2 friendly win over Switzerland’s U-21 on March 27.
