Benghazi: Wake up America

Listen to this article

Did anyone in the United States really believe that an internet video caused the attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi, on September 11, 2012? We certainly hope not! If you believed it, wake up America!

The fact that our politicians think the American people are that gullible, to believe a video sparked this attack, is at the very least, insulting.

Hillary Clinton told her family and others the night of the attack that it wasn’t a video. You would think that this fact should be enough to end her political career. But no, she is being praised for withstanding eight hours of questioning. What about being held accountable for her dishonesty?

Citing an email Clinton sent to her daughter Chelsea the night of the attack, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said at Thursday’s hearing that she told them, “Two officers were killed today in Benghazi by an Al Qaeda-like group.”

Further, Jordan said she told the Egyptian prime minister the next day that they knew the attack was “planned” and had “nothing to do with the film.”

One day after then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice said on five Sunday talk shows that the attack grew out of a protest over the film, Fox News was first to report on September 17, 2012, based on an intelligence source on the ground in Libya, that there was no protest outside the Benghazi consulate.

This is the Obama White house. Why are we not holding more of this administration accountable?

They sent Susan Rice out there as the sacrificial lamb, to lie to the American people. They then moved her/promoted her to another position. Her reward for lying to the American people, she’s now our National Security Advisor!

From January 2009 until assuming the role of National Security Advisor in July 2013, Ambassador Rice served as the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations and a member of President Obama’s Cabinet.

Remember Watergate?

In 1972, President Nixon’s reelection campaign wiretapped the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Hearings were held, (like Benghazi), only these hearings led to the indictment of forty administration officials and the conviction of several of Nixon’s aides for obstruction of justice and other crimes. Its revelations prompted the introduction of articles of impeachment against the President in the House of Representatives, which led to Nixon’s resignation on August 9, 1974.

In two years time, Watergate was investigated and brought to a resolution. This resulted in the resignation of The President of the United States. Resignation … we’re talking about wire-tapping, not the death of an American Ambassador, and the other brave Americans that died that night, and the president resigned.

How our standards have changed … How holding people accountable has changed. It barely exists, if at all in the political arena. It seems the politicians of today are above the law …

Why is it taking so long to get to the bottom of Benghazi? There was a re-election in progress of President Obama, that might have something to do with the delay. It certainly seems that way. Three years later we’re holding hearings where “I don’t recall,” certainly seems like a reasonable response, because it was three years ago!

The smoke and mirrors of this administration is mystifying. Why isn’t every last person being held accountable for Benghazi, rather than being re-elected (Obama), repositioned (Susan Rice) and a viable candidate for President (Clinton)? There are more involved than these three individuals, but these are the obvious players.

This White House, this Administration, these politicians, have no shame. If they did, they would have done the right thing and resigned all of their positions. How do they sleep at night?

There is an old saying that “the fish rots from the head,” meaning that when an organization or state fails, it is the leadership that is the root cause. Appropriate under these circumstances. Don’t blame just the minions; the heads are all ultimately responsible.

Are these the people we want running the country going forward? Well, since Hillary is now leading in the polls, it would seem so …

Wake up America!
