Vaping is considered to be a better alternative to smoking. Many people wanting to quit smoking often make a switch to vaping or e-cigarettes. They believe that it is less harmful than smoking tobacco.

Whether you are into vaping or smoking tobacco, it is always better to leave that habit as it is not good for your health. However, if you are thinking to switch to vaping, it would be better if you learn the truth about it. In this brief post, we are going to debunk some of the most common myths that are associated with vaping.

For those of you who believe that vaping is less harmful to your health should read the pointers below.

1. Vaping is less harmful than smoking tobacco

The first thing you should know about e-cigarettes is that it heats nicotine and other chemicals to create an aerosol that is inhaled by users. Tobacco cigarettes several harmful chemicals and most of them are indeed toxic. But what you don’t know is that the chemicals present in e-cigarettes are equally harmful. So if you thought switching to vaping will do you good, then you are wrong.

There are several deaths and lung injuries associated with vaping. In 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported at least 60 deaths resulting from e-cigarettes. This is particularly true for people using vaping products containing tetrahydrocannabinol.

2. Vaping is bad for your lungs and hearts 

As you already know nicotine is the main ingredient in both tobacco cigarettes and e-cigarettes that is both addictive and harmful. The more you intake nicotine, the more you crave it. If you try to leave smoking, you suffer from withdrawal symptoms. In short, nicotine is a highly toxic substance that should be avoided at all costs. Once you start taking it, it will be difficult for you to get out of it.

It is also known to increase your blood pressure and adrenaline. This in return increases your heart rate and thus, puts you at risk of getting a heart attack. Vaping products contain nicotine too which makes it equally dangerous as tobacco cigarettes. The only difference is that it may contain less amount of nicotine than tobacco.

3. Electronic Cigarettes are highly addictive

Like we discussed before, e-cigarettes contain nicotine which means it can be addictive too. According to some research, it may be as addictive as cocaine or other drugs.

The worst thing is that many e-cigarettes come with higher amounts of nicotine which puts you at a greater risk. For instance, people buying extra-strength cartridges which contain higher doses of nicotine. This gives you an extra hit which can be dangerous to your health later on.

From the above three points, it is clear that vaping in no way is better than smoking regular cigarettes. Anybody promoting the same is either a fool or doing it on purpose. If you want to keep yourself healthy and live long, then you should avoid both.
