Dodgers, Padres and Angels will shine at MLB All-Star Game
When the Major League Baseball 2025 All-Star Game kicks off tonight, fans of the three teams located in Southern California will see their players in uniforms. While the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers each have five players suited up, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have only one: left-handed pitcher Yusei Kikuchi.
From the Padres there are Manny Machado (3B), Fernando Tatis, Jr (OF, Jason Adam (RHP), Robert Suarez (RHP) and Adrian Morejon (LHP).
From the Dodgers: Freddie Freeman (1B), Will Smith ©, Shohei Ohtani (DH), Yoshinobu Yamamoto (RHP) and Commissioner Rob Manfred’s pick for legend player, Clayton Kershaw (LHP) who is making his 11th appearance in the Mid-Summer Classic.
In his long career Kershaw has one three Cy Young Awards and was named the National League MVP in 2014, the same season he threw a no-hitter.
We will see players from every franchise suited up and presumably take the field at some point during the game.
On Monday evening the league held it’s T-Mobile Home Run Derby. Eight heavy hitters entered the contest, taking two rounds to whittle the field down to the last two contestants, Junior Caminero of the Tamp Bay Rays and Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners.
Raleigh, who has been leading the major leagues with 38 home runs, took the trophy, hitting 54 total through the three rounds. He slammed 18 in the final round and his opponent, Junior Caminero, came within one of tying Raleigh.
After the Home Run Derby our sports reporter Claudia Gestro filed this report from Atlanta.

We are not the typical news website – nor do we wish to be. We will be offering more than news and blogs, but an opportunity for fiction writers, poets, comedians and musicians to showcase their talent and skills. Much like when the Beatles formed Apple Corps Ltd, they opened the door to all kinds of inspiring talent that never really got a shot. From that came the likes of James Taylor and others. We hope by providing a similar approach we can shine the light on some tremendous undiscovered talent and at the same time offer some familiar voices who live in Los Angeles and beyond.
