With an estimated 60 percent of the American adult population obese there is no doubt but that we face a major health crisis in America and around much of the world. Obesity very frequently leads to diabetes and diabetes brings with it a host of deadly diseases including heart disease, liver disease and gangrene. This was dramatically brought to my attention three and half years ago when due to obesity induced heart failure I stopped breathing and dropped unconscious at the door of death in my home. Miraculously I got restarted but after 26 days in ICU I was left with the challenge of heart failure, obesity, diabetes and cancer. I beat them all and now for the second year on my 71st birthday I am walking with some friend 14 miles from Burbank to Hollywood. I am extremely pleased that I will be joined by these amazing celebrities to help bring even more attention to this critical fight.
