Johnny Crawford to be honored with star on The Walk of Western Stars
Santa Clarita, CA: Television and film legend Johnny Crawford is being honored with a star on The Walk of Western Stars on Main Street in Old Town Newhall. The unveiling is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 21st 2016 at a location near William S. Hart Park, 24151 Newhall Avenue, Newhall [Santa Clarita], California.
Johnny Crawford is best known for his co-starring role as the young Mark McCain in the classic Western television series “The Rifleman” which also starred the late great Chuck Connors. Johnny Crawford was in each of the 168 episodes that ran from 1958 through 1963. “The Rifleman” continues to air on both AMC Television and ME.tv.
The Walk of Western Stars has honored the legends of Western film, television and radio since its inception in 1981. The Walk of Western Stars is similar in style to the Hollywood Walk of Fame but with its emphasis entirely on those who have made significant contributions to the Western Heritage. Past inductees include Chuck Connors, Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, John Wayne, Sam Elliot, Richard Farnsworth and Bruce Dern.
