LAFC will host the Portland Timbers Sunday
Sunday the Los Angeles Football Club will host the Portland Timbers for the first of two games at the Banc of California Stadium. Sunday’s game will be an MLS league game and then on Wednesday the two division rivals will play for the U.S. Open Cup (USOC) quarter final.
Sunday’s game is a big match for both. LAFC has climbed into second place behind Dallas and ahead of Sporting Kansas City. Portland is in fifth place hoping to overtake Real Salt Lake, which has the same number of points as the Timbers. An out right win would out LAFC squarely in first place in the Western Conference and a win for the Timbers would put them in fourth place.
Midfielder André Horta is with the team after fulfilling sone obligations in Europe, but coach Bob Bradley isn’t sure if the Portuguese player will be ready to take the pitch on Sunday, but fans won’t be disappointed with the middle; it still features Lee Nguyen, Mark-Anthony Kaye, Eduard Atuesta and Benny Feilhaber who will rotate on and off the pitch.
And of course there will be Adama Diomande who is possibly the most exciting player in MLS right now. In seven games the striker has scored nine goals with two assists and 13 shots-on-goal. Did will be joined up front by Latif Blessing, Diego Rossi and Carlos Vela who will be back from World Cup play.

We are not the typical news website – nor do we wish to be. We will be offering more than news and blogs, but an opportunity for fiction writers, poets, comedians and musicians to showcase their talent and skills. Much like when the Beatles formed Apple Corps Ltd, they opened the door to all kinds of inspiring talent that never really got a shot. From that came the likes of James Taylor and others. We hope by providing a similar approach we can shine the light on some tremendous undiscovered talent and at the same time offer some familiar voices who live in Los Angeles and beyond.
