Los Angeles area members of Congress want to protect everyone’s right to vote and restore the right to the million who have lost that right across the country.

Los Angeles, CA –Congresswomen Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-40), Linda Sánchez (CA-38), and Judy Chu (CA-27) will host a press conference and forum on voting rights titled “Protect Your Future: Restore the Vote” at East Los Angeles College on Friday, May 20. The press conference will begin at 9:30 AM PST and will be immediately followed by the “Protect Your Future: Restore the Vote” forum.
Held in conjunction with the Democratic Outreach & Engagement Task Force, the “Protect Your Future: Restore the Vote” forum will bring together expert panelists to discuss what steps Congress should take to ensure every American’s right to vote is protected. The forum will examine the coordinated attack on voting rights nationwide for minorities, the legal erosion of the Voting Rights Act as a result of the Supreme Court’s decision in the case of Shelby County v. Holder, and the urgent need for Congress to pass legislation to strengthen and restore the Voting Rights Act.
