Ocean Beach Pier Surf Classic
On Saturday, February 4, Hodad’s Burgers and AWOL Productions held the annual Ocean Beach Pier Surf Classic. There were a lot of heats with a lot of surfers of every age and gender.
The usual Ocean Beach crowd was in attendance, as well as visitors from around Southern California.
This was a family event, as was evident by the number of heats for the youngest girls and boys and heats for families.
It was a beautiful day in Ocean Beach, San Diego. Air temps in the mid 60s and a bit lower in the water. there was a high surf advisory in effect and the crowd was not disappointed, although the waves were a bit choppy. But that didn’t stop anything.
The surfers obviously had a great time surfing and the crowd had a great time watching the surfers do their thing.
Just about every day in Southern California is a good day to go to the beach.

There is a line getting into the door, whether you’re ordering carry out or to go. Many claim Hodad’s has the best damn burgers in Southern California. You be the judge — go have one.
AWOL Productions is a relatively new apparel company located in Ocean Beach and they have grown in the 15 years they have been open for business. well done organizers and volunteers.

We are not the typical news website – nor do we wish to be. We will be offering more than news and blogs, but an opportunity for fiction writers, poets, comedians and musicians to showcase their talent and skills. Much like when the Beatles formed Apple Corps Ltd, they opened the door to all kinds of inspiring talent that never really got a shot. From that came the likes of James Taylor and others. We hope by providing a similar approach we can shine the light on some tremendous undiscovered talent and at the same time offer some familiar voices who live in Los Angeles and beyond.
