Sun Moon Garden a true dining delight
To be great a restaurant must at the very minimum have outstanding food, a pleasant ambiance and I believe real value. Unfortunately all too few have all three. But I recently had the pleasure of rediscovering one that meets and exceeds them all.
I say “rediscovered” because it has been near my home and I have enjoyed dining there many times over many years but a few years back there was a fire in an adjacent facility and the restaurant was shut down for well over a year. When it reopened some months ago it was in many ways the very same: the same location, the same management — but not entirely the same menu.
Sun Moon Garden is a Chinese Mandarin Restaurant located at 1511 North San Fernando Road, Burbank, California. It is a cozy but very pleasant restaurant offering both tables and booths. hey, of course, offer what you would expect of any good Chinese restaurant: a wide and delicious menu of such favorites as Kung Pau Chicken, Szechwan Sliced B. B Q. Pork, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, Chop Suey, Chow Mein and Fried Rice in many forms. They are all abundant and delicious and extremely reasonably priced with many well under $10.00.
But the menu items that stole my palate are found on their Special Health Menu offering steamed fresh vegetables alone or with shrimp or chicken white meat. The vegetables are absolutely perfect, steamed but succulent and the shrimp is abundant and severely palate pleasing. The cost is insanely reasonable ranging from $8.39 to $12.99. And every dish has no fat, no MSG, low salt and low sugar. Wow! At Sun Moon Garden you can enjoy thoroughly delectable food without breaking the bank and without risking diabetes or hypertension.
Sun Moon Garden also offers a pleasant selection of beers and wine. They are open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sundays 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. And yes, their service is always warm, friendly and prompt. You may call 818-846-7660 for reservations or carry out or just stop by and usually you will be very pleasantly and quickly accommodated.
