University of California raising minimum wage

The University of California is raising its minimum wage to $15 an hour, over the next three years. UC president Janet Napolitano made the announcement Wednesday Morning (July 22,2015).

The UC system has 10 campuses, five medical centers and three research facilities around California and thousands of UC employees will see their income increase.

It includes the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, part of UC-San Diego. Their pier is pictured above.
