LOS ANGELES – Dodger fans may be driving on Vin Scully Avenue during the 2016 season if a motion by Los Angeles City Councilman Gil Cedillo clears the first process of a vote in City Hall on Friday.

Cedillo will make the motion for a vote during the Friday City Council meeting at City Hall to change the name of Elysian Park Avenue to Vin Scully Avenue, in honor of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Hall of Fame broadcaster, who will be beginning his 67th and final season calling the action.

“There’s no better way to recognize such an iconic Dodger as Hall of Famer Vin Scully than naming a street after him,” said Dodgers’ President & CEO Stan Kasten. “We appreciate Gil Cedillo and city officials bringing this to the forefront and we look forward to the day when everyone can drive on Vin Scully Avenue when they enter Dodger Stadium.”

The Los Angeles Dodgers will be well represented at the City Council meeting as part of their week of service tour in the greater Los Angeles Community during the Dodgers Love L.A. Tour presented by Bank of America.

Joining Cedillo at City Hall on Friday will be Dodger manager Dave Roberts, Clayton Kershaw, Yasiel Puig, Austin Barnes, Jharel Cotton, Carlos Frias, Yimi Garcia, Chris Hatcher, Pedro Baez, Yasmani Grandal, Micah Johnson, Zach Lee, Adam Liberatore, Frankie Montas, Josh Ravin, Scott Van Slyke, Trayce Thompson, and Ross Stripling. Former Dodgers also will be in attendance including Hall of Fame Manager Tommy Lasorda, Orel Hershiser, Ron Cey, Steve Garvey, Eric Karros, Maury Wills and SNLA broadcaster Alanna Rizzo.
