Corey Lewandowski charged with battery
Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, was officially charged with battery after allegedly grabbing former Breitbart News reporter Michelle Fields at a campaign event at the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, FL.
On March 14 we reported that Fields and fellow Breitbart editor Ben Shapiro had resigned over the incident because the management of Breitbart had taken Trump’s side on the issue, claiming it had been a security person who had grabbed Fields. Both Trump and Breitbart have maintained Lewandowski is innocent, but a surveillance video that has just been made public appears to confirm Fields’ claims it was Lewandowski who “yanked” the reporter away from the candidate.
Since then other Breitbart employees quit, including Kurt Bardella, who had been a spokesperson for the site. He told the New York Times the site betrayed the original intent of founder Andrew Breitbart, that “… everyone should unilaterally be held accountable — whether it be Donald Trump or someone else.”
Reuters is reporting the Jupiter Police arrested and charged Lewandowski with “intentionally grabbing and bruising the arm of Michelle Fields,” a misdemeanor assault charge.
When Fields resigned from Breitbart, she told the New York Times, she “… felt like my employer was working with the Trump campaign to assassinate my character,” and “They were more interested in protecting Trump and coordinating with him on a message, than they were about finding out the truth.”
In a released statement, the Trump campaign responded: “Mr. Lewandowski is absolutely innocent of this charge. He will enter a plea of not guilty and looks forward to his day in court. He is completely confident that he will be exonerated.”
Lewandowski himself called Fields “delusional” and that he had never even met the reporter.
The surveillance video could be very damning evidence.

We are not the typical news website – nor do we wish to be. We will be offering more than news and blogs, but an opportunity for fiction writers, poets, comedians and musicians to showcase their talent and skills. Much like when the Beatles formed Apple Corps Ltd, they opened the door to all kinds of inspiring talent that never really got a shot. From that came the likes of James Taylor and others. We hope by providing a similar approach we can shine the light on some tremendous undiscovered talent and at the same time offer some familiar voices who live in Los Angeles and beyond.
