Crazy Nuts gets her crazy
I have a confession: I have an addiction and its to almond butter. Almond butter in my smoothies, almond butter on my NutThins; almond butter on my oatmeal; almond butter with my celery sticks.
Yep, I love me some almond butter morning, noon and night. Its been a protein staple for me about three years now, and I cant get enough. (Plus I love the fact it doesnt get stuck in my teeth when in butter form like the nuts do!)
So, stumbling across Crazy Richards’s Almond Butter was an absolute addition to my addiction. No questions. Almond butter is a great health food because, although high in fat these fats are “good” fats.
Almonds are also known to be rich in Vitmain E, magnesium and iron. The Crazy Richard’s Almond Butter is by far my favorite available on the grocery store shelves to date. It has an unbelievably smooth and creamy texture; it doesn’t have that gritty taste that can be found in some other products, and this makes it perfect for dipping in my celery sticks. It also has no added salt or sugar, no hydrogenated and palm oils, 4 grams of protein per serving, and with a super high NuVal Score of 84, Crazy Richard’s declares that “it is the healthiest natural Almond butter you can buy!” I can only agree!
What’s the NuVal score all about, though?
The NuVal System is a fairly new nutrition scoring system that allows us consumers to see the nutritional value of the foods we buy in score system of 1 to 100. The higher the nutritional value, the higher the NuVal Score. I love this idea because it helps us call make smarter choices when we’re buying food products. This scoring should help us all clean up our diets. I’d love to see it applied to school lunches, and then we’ll see how highly they rate in the NuVal scoring …
Back to Crazy Richard’s … Seeing as I loved the Almond Butter I decided to branch out and go for the Peanut Butter too. I have a “thing” about peanut butter. I like it, but I don’t love it, and I’ve been put off by viewing it as a kids’ junk food, thrown in with jelly and chocolate and candy. But naturally Crazy Richard’s Peanut Butter is all natural. No salt or sugar added, no trans fats, and just peanuts, it’s another good source of protein.
One bite on a bagel and I’m smitten. I event feel ready to have my first PB&J with homemade bread and jelly. Natural, healthy goodness the Crazy Richard’s way! Have I developed yet another addiction?! I think maybe I have.
Why on earth are other companies putting so much rubbish in their products when you can get natural goodness like this in a jar? Crazy Richard’s say: “Everything we produce is centered on these three words: Health – Nutrition – Energy. We do this by providing our customers with the healthiest foods that nature provides. We produce only 100% natural products, that provide consumers with nut butters that deliver the energy they need and the health they require.”
I am so very glad I don’t have a nut allergy; quite the reverse — my addiction is fueled even more by Crazy Richard’s amazing nut products! See, I told you I was crazy nuts about Crazy Richard’s nuts!
