Today at 5 p.m. the Los Angeles Football Club will try to extend its unbeaten streak at home when they take the field against the Philadelphia Union FC. Winning or playing to a draw will push the streak to seven matches.

It will be another tough match for LAFC. Philadelphia is coming off a big 4-0 win at home against the Vancouver Whitecaps. Midfielder Borek Dockal had two goals in that game and he can be big trouble for Los Angeles. He has five goals and six assists on the season.

Defender Steven Beitashour will be a force to deal with for the Union

Philadelphia is a talented squad, which is not reflected in their record. Ilsinho is another midfielder who will be tough for Los Angeles to defend. In total ten of their players have had goals and assists this season.

LAFC has an edge with more men contributing assists, plus Diego Rossi who has five goals and six assists. Carlos Vela is with Team Mexico so he won’t play today, which should give the Union a sigh of relief. He leads LAFC with seven goals and five assists. But there are others on the  L.A. squad who have made great contributions, like Adama Diomandé and Laurent Ciman. Dio has proven to be a great addition for the squad with his four goals.

Like the Union, this L.A. squad has plenty of players who can create opportunities and take advantage of them.

Statistically LAFC should come away from this match with a win, but these contests are not decided on paper. The Union has won its last two and four of their last six matches. Fans will have a great time today with this match.

Game time is 5 p.m. at Banc of California Stadium. It will be broadcast on YouTube TV.
