VRBO on on Warmoesstraat in Amsterdam a great find
The last stop on my five week Europe trip was Amsterdam, a city I’d been to a few times and was relatively familiar with. Which was why it was a total shock to find a VRBO listing for an affordable apartment on Warmoesstraat, across from my favorite restaurant in town, and half a block (i.e., stumbling distance) from my favorite Genevers bar. To say this is a prime location is an understatement; tourists leaving Amsterdam Central were taking pictures of the apartment all day long because it overlooks the first major scenic canal (which is also where the canal boats depart).
$140/night gave us a big bed and a futon, a washer and dryer (sorely needed at this point in the trip), a bathroom with a high-tech toilet, a poorly tuned piano, and a kitchen stocked with wine, coffee, and sweets! Couldn’t have asked for a better apartment for my final week in Europe.
